We always knew that some of the set wouldn't fit in the Newcastle venue.
I was advised from the beginning not to play the City Hall as our entire stage wouldn't fit. It was a tough decision, as some cities like Sheffield and Nottingham had to miss out on this tour as we couldn't get a venue available on the right dates that would fit the show. I felt bad about that but wanted to take the show to as many cities as I normally play where we could get the show as we designed it there.

What no one considered with the Newcastle show, was that even though the set could fit on the stage (well most of it) - it couldn't get in the building! The venue is beautiful but has original tiny load in doors that make loading in difficult at the best of times. With a set like ours, the poor crew this morning found out the hard way that, like a couch too big for your apartment, our set coudln't even make it through the doors!

Opening Night! Wahooo!

Let me be the first to write up my account of the opening night of my show.
It was pretty flawless and I'm so happy. But let's go back in time a little.
Back to the last few days.

The band rehearsals took it out of us physically but it was nothing compared to the production rehearsals. They were gruelling!

We did the show so many times, and it was 15 hour days and lots of sweating.
Dealing with costumes, lyrics, marks, choreography, blocking,staging. There was barely time to even think about my voice or the experience we were having.

Last night we were all so tired. We had finished our dress rehearsals but were so tired we could barely talk! We all went home from Bray Studios (where the set had been parked for days) and quickly packed our bags to meet the tour bus in West London.

September 22, 2007 - Saturday

Final Countdown - and UK support James Murray

This is a very short update.
I'm just about to go to bed after having done the show twice today.
Tomorrow is our final dress rehearsal and then it's off to Scotland to open the tour in Glasgow on Monday night.

We're all physically worn down but spiritually way up.
And by the time the curtain drops we'll be all yours.
Can't wait.

I wanted to introduce you to the lovely
James Murray who's our UK support act. He's lovely and talented and I'm sure you'll enjoy his making waves before we come on and rock it (pop it!).

Один из немногих негативов в том, чтобы быть публичной личностью - то, что Вы являетесь открытыми для подобных обвинений."

Полицейское предостережение связано с пятой главой из закона об Общественном порядке, которая касается грубого поведения в общественном месте.

"У меня был небольшой конфликт с грубым человеком у дверей ресторана," объяснил Хейс. "Мы даже не прошли внутрь. Это был человек афро-карибских корней. Это не был выходец из Азии как это сообщалось в прессе, и при этом это не имело никакого отношения к нашему поведению."

В тот злополучный вечер певец был с супругом Ричардом Калленом, и что немаловажно обедал в том ресторане регулярно за прошлые четыре года.

Amazing Happy Day.
We did our run through of the show today with full production and I can't tell you how floored we all were at how great it looks.

Honestly the most intricate and theatrical show I've ever put my name to and with a team of the best people you could ever hope to work with.

Where do I start? Let me get the superficial out of the way first.
The show LOOKS stunning. The set. The visuals. The lights. The costumes.
Stunning.

Now on to the human aspect.

Bruise is coming up.

Others weren't so kind.
